PAR38 shaped LED light bulbs are generally 4 3/4" in diameter. Traditionally the PAR lamp shape is based on a parabolic shape that is coated with a reflective material. Most LED solutions have a much better directed light source so there is no need for a parabolic reflection technology. PAR38 bulbs are common in flood lights and spot lights for indoor and outdoor applications like landscaping, theatrical lighting, residential lighting, apartment building lighting, etc.
